FOOD SAFETY & HANDLING
We advice that you place the required feeding amount in a chiller for about 10-12 hours to thaw before feeding. Do not thaw it on a table at room temperature over 1-2 hours before feeding. The shorter the time food sits out, the less unwanted bacteria growth there will be. Our products do not contain any preservatives, therefore it must be handled like human food.
THE DAILY BARF products are all are vacuum sealed for freshness and quality. Our products stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 days if unopened.
Store in the freezer and our expiry is 1 year from manufacturing date. Best before dates can be found on our sealed packaging.
Once thawed, it should not be refrozen. Handle our products just like how you would handle your own food because our food is human grade.
The only way our food would go bad is by the improper handling during transport, thawing or mishandling during preparation. Ensure that our products is frozen when you receive it from our delivery buddy. Some signs that it has gone bad: Bloated packet and foul or sour smell.
Please make sure your fridge is colder than 4ºC (ideally 2ºC to allow for some margin) and your freezers are colder than -18ºC.
Absolutely not. Rest assured that our meats are hygienically sourced and prepared so your pet only gets the freshest food!
Why would you want to? Your pet can absorb nutrients and digest raw meats much better than cooked meats. Furthermore, cooking destroys valuable nutrients in delicate parts such as organ meat. Cooking also causes bone to dry out and splinter when cooked - never feed cooked bone!
No. Microwave causes bone content to be cooked from the inside out. Thawing is best done in the fridge overnight.
